My Therapeutic Approach
Therapy with me is a collaborative and compassionate process. I work from a Humanistic Integrative perspective, which means I draw on several therapeutic approaches — such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis — to meet your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.
My focus is on building a trusting and safe relationship where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. I believe that healing happens through connection — when you feel heard, understood, and accepted for who you are.
In our sessions, I aim to help you make sense of your experiences, understand patterns in your life, and find healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I work with you to uncover your own resources and strengths, supporting personal growth, self-acceptance, and emotional resilience.
How I Work
Collaborative: We set the pace together — you lead the direction, and I help you make sense of what emerges.
Relational: I bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity into the room. The therapeutic relationship is central to our work.
Integrative: Depending on what’s most helpful, I may use creative exploration, reflective dialogue, or grounding techniques to support emotional processing.
Trauma-informed: I work sensitively with trauma, paying attention to emotional safety and the body’s responses.
Areas of Specialisation
I have experience working with a range of issues including:
Trauma and abuse (including sexual abuse and childhood trauma)
Men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing
Relationship and family difficulties
Low self-esteem and identity issues
Anxiety, depression, and loss
Personal growth and life transitions
I also have a strong interest in supporting men to open up about emotional pain, especially those navigating fatherhood, separation, or identity challenges.
