Mania
Mania is a mental health issue that can impact individuals in different ways. Understanding and addressing it through therapy can lead to improved well-being and quality of life.
Mania is a state of elevated or irritable mood that goes beyond feeling happy or energised. It’s often linked to bipolar disorder and can involve racing thoughts, impulsive behaviour, and feeling unusually confident or invincible.
During mania, people might sleep very little, talk quickly, take risks, or spend excessively. Thoughts may race, and concentration can be difficult. Some experience agitation, grand ideas, or even delusions, which can feel exciting or overwhelming.
Mania can strain relationships, lead to unsafe decisions, and be followed by feelings of regret or low mood. Therapy can help by offering insight into mood patterns, developing coping strategies, and working alongside medical support to maintain balance.
