Neurodivergence
Neurodivergence is not a disorder or something to be cured. However, difficult experiences in a neurotypical world can impact mental health and individuals may benefit from therapeutic support.
Neurodivergence describes natural differences in how people think, process, and experience the world. It includes conditions like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more. Being neurodivergent isn’t a disorder—it’s a different way of being, with unique strengths and challenges.
Neurodivergent people may experience sensory sensitivities, communication differences, or find social rules confusing. They might struggle in traditional settings like school or work, not because they can’t thrive, but because those environments aren’t always designed with them in mind.
Feeling misunderstood or unsupported can lead to anxiety, burnout, or low self-esteem. Therapy can help by creating an affirming space, offering practical strategies, and supporting self-acceptance. It can also empower people to advocate for their needs confidently.
