Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health concern which can significantly impact the lives of individuals. Therapeutic support can improve wellbeing and be life-changing.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition where people experience unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and feel driven to perform certain behaviours or rituals (compulsions) to relieve anxiety or prevent something bad from happening.
Obsessions might include fears about harm, contamination, or making mistakes. Compulsions can involve checking, counting, cleaning, or repeating actions. These cycles can feel exhausting, time-consuming, and hard to control—even when the person knows they don’t make logical sense.
OCD can impact daily routines, relationships, and self-esteem. Therapy, especially CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), can help by reducing anxiety around obsessions and breaking the compulsive cycle. Over time, it supports confidence and emotional freedom.
