Transient Psychosis
Transient Psychosis is a distressing mental health condition that can impact individuals in different ways. Understanding and addressing it through therapy can lead to improved well-being and quality of life.
Transient psychosis refers to a brief episode of psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, or disorganised thinking. These episodes usually last a few hours to a few days and may be triggered by extreme stress, trauma, or certain mental health conditions.
People experiencing transient psychosis may see or hear things that are not there, hold false beliefs, or feel highly confused. Emotions can be intense and unpredictable. These episodes can be frightening and disorienting, both for the person affected and those around them.
Though short-lived, transient psychosis can cause distress, fear, and confusion. It may lead to difficulties with trust, relationships, or daily functioning. Therapy can help address underlying causes, provide emotional support, and build strategies for recognising early signs and preventing future episodes.
