Therapy with Me

My name is Ruby and I'm a qualified psychotherapist with a Master's degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

As someone who originally from Hong Kong, I have personally experienced the complexity of moving between cultures, I understand how layered, unspoken, and emotional these experiences can be.

I work with people who often feel caught between who they are and who they’re expected to be — whether that’s navigating culture, family expectations, or identity. Many of my clients come from backgrounds where emotions weren’t welcomed, where saying “no” to parents felt unthinkable, and where being different felt unsafe.

If you feels like

  • Carrying emotions they were never allowed to name

  • Struggling with boundaries, especially with family

  • Feeling caught between cultures

  • Living with constant but quiet pressure

  • Longing to heal, without blame

In our sessions, you don’t have to be afraid of being judged. Together, we gently look at how past experiences shape the patterns in your adult life. It’s not about blaming parents or families — I believe most did the best they could.
Instead, therapy is a chance to notice those patterns, realise you now have choices, and begin taking responsibility for how you want to live.
Over time, my clients begin to rebuild self-worth, treat themselves with more compassion, and discover that setting boundaries doesn’t make them bad or ungrateful. They learn that being different doesn’t make them unlovable.
One client once told me she could hear my voice reminding her she was worthy and deserving of love — and that helped her believe she could love herself too.
